Hubbell Homes, Des Moines Art Center and Des Moines Arts Festival are proud to host Nurturing a Student’s Vision: Celebrating Artists K-12 student art exhibition (NSV) at the Des Moines Arts Festival on June 25-27, 2010, in downtown Des MoinesWestern Gateway Park!

The exhibition showcased the work of 376 students from 96 schools in 2009!

NSV is a program that spotlights the creativity of children in kindergarten through 12th grade attending schools in central Iowa through a special exhibition on-site at the Des Moines Arts Festival and the six weeks after at the Downtown Public Library. It recognizes students’ artistic achievements at the Visionary Artist Ceremony and NSV Reception, and rewards them with a Certificate of Appreciation along with a Des Moines Art Center Student Membership. In addition, participating teachers each receive an educator membership to the Art Center and a chance to win one-of-five $100 awards in art supplies.

In addition to the exhibition, a jury chooses artwork from five (5) of the participating students to be made into banners that accompany the exhibit on-site at the Festival. After the Festival, the entire exhibit is showcased at the Downtown Public Library and banners are displayed at the Des Moines Art Center.

Each student artist participating in NSV receives a Certificate of Participation, a Des Moines Art Center Student Membership and is honored at the Visionary Artists Ceremony at the Des Moines Arts Festival on Saturday, June 26Student participants will have the opportunity to pick up their certificate of participation and Des Moines Art Center student membership at the ceremony or at the fall reception.

Hubbell Homes will host a fall reception at the Downtown Public Library. Here, all participating schools are eligible to win one-of-five $100 awards for art supplies. In addition, two students will receive Des Moines Art Center scholarships and one student will receive a family membership to the Art Center. Schools and students must be present to win.
